The CSO plays a key role in ensuring that the directions set by the AMA Board and Representative Forum are translated into actionable and quantifiable plans. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CSO’s responsibilities cover all aspects of the execution of strategy, including advising on strategy development; identifying core competencies and capabilities; and assessing the alignment of key business initiatives that intersect the AMA’s branches and its many activities.
Gayle has extensive experience in senior roles, both inside and outside the health sector. She has a Master of Public Health degree and is a Certified Health Executive. Gayle worked previously for the AMA, including serving as Senior Director, Physician Compensation Services and most recently with the Income Equity Initiative project.
