Tell us about your practice.
I’ve been a family physician for four years. My practice is in west Edmonton at Edgemont Health Centre.
Why did you choose family medicine?
Due to the diverse population and breadth of medicine it involved; I also enjoy the variety it allows for.
What do you find most satisfying about your work?
Family medicine is challenging these days, so it is very touching when a patient nominates me for an award like this. Hearing stories about how we made a difference or helped someone improve their quality of life … these keep us going on a day-to-day basis. I say “we” because I think this is probably rewarding for all family physicians. These small gestures have such a huge impact on us.

My staff and colleagues put in a lot of effort every day, and that is not always seen by everyone because it’s behind the scenes. I love to see patients recognize and acknowledge them as well.
