Cindy Qian

Cindy Qian is a second year medical student at the University of Alberta, interested in obstetric medicine, women's health, and immigrant health. She completed her undergraduate in Biological Sciences at the U of A.

During her undergraduate studies, she served as the Vice President, Administration and Finance on the team of the Interdepartmental Science Students' Society and as the Finance Director for Jack.org, a national group involved in mental health awareness.

In medical school, Cindy is one of two professionalism representatives for her year and sits on the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry professionalism committee. Cindy is also the president of the Alberta Medical Students (AMSCAR) Conference and Retreat and involved with the Women in Medicine and Surgery club. Currently, she is working on a project aimed at broadening recently settled refugee women’s knowledge surrounding their health.

In her free time, Cindy enjoys learning random trivia, baking and knitting sweaters for her cat. She loves to travel and hopes to visit all seven continents!
