Now retired, Dr. Malmberg (U of A ‘82) practiced family medicine for three years before returning to the U of A to specialize in psychiatry. His clinical work centred on the community care of the severely and persistently ill. 

A self-taught musician and songwriter, Jim has performed across western Canada with his band Back Porch Swing and as a duo with his wife Penny.
