Shannon Freitas understands the value of advice and takes pride in providing physicians and their families with thoughtful planning to help them meet their financial needs and reach their goals in life. She joined MD Private Investment Counsel (MDPIC) in 2021, previously working as a senior financial consultant with MD Management Limited (MDM). She joined MD in 2003 and started her career in the financial services industry in 2001.

Shannon is dedicated to providing exclusive support to physicians who have built up significant assets and who rely on her to manage the day-to-day demands of their portfolios so that they can focus on other priorities. She collaborates with clients to create customized investment strategies that efficiently meet their financial planning goals by focusing on generating long-term returns with prudent levels of risk.

As part of the MDPIC team, Shannon has access to the expertise and insight of some of the best asset managers in the world, and she works closely with MD Advisors* to incorporate individual portfolio strategies into each client’s overall financial plan.

Shannon holds the chartered investment manager (CIM) and certified financial planner (CFP) designations and earned an applied small business and entrepreneurship degree from Mount Royal University in Calgary.

Away from work, Shannon enjoys spending time with her husband and two teenage children. They have a lot of fun camping in the summer and skiing in the winter, and she relaxes by reading a great book or gardening.
