Simone Reitzes is the Managing Director of the Medicus Pension Plan™, where she oversees the design, strategy, governance and risk management of the plan. Simone played a pivotal role in the establishment of Medicus, an innovative and valuable addition to Canada’s retirement system.
Simone brings nearly two decades of leadership experience to Medicus. As the former Vice President, Global Pension and Benefits at Scotiabank, she oversaw Scotiabank’s global financial reporting and strategy for over $10 billion in pension obligations. Before her time at Scotiabank, Simone provided consulting services to both private- and public-sector clients, addressing the complex challenges associated with holistic management of pension plan sponsorship.
Simone is highly regarded in the field, holding a Bachelor of Mathematics with a Major in Actuarial Science from the University of Waterloo and a Strategic Analytics Certificate from the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University. She is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and the Society of Actuaries and a member of the C.D. Howe Institute’s Pension Policy Council.
