Dr. Fay Strohschein


Dr. Fay Strohschein 

Dr. Fay Strohschein is a registered nurse and adjunct assistant professor at the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary. She completed her PhD in Nursing at McGill University, exploring treatment decision making among older adults with colorectal cancer. Her postdoctoral studies at the University of Calgary included a CIHR Health System Impact Fellowship in collaboration with the Cancer Strategic Clinical Network, Cancer Care Alberta.

Fay's work involved age-analysis of patient-reported outcome and experience data and engagement with older adults, caregivers and health care providers/leaders in co-design of a provincial cancer diagnosis program. Her research interests have grown from clinical work in geriatric oncology at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal.

Dr. Selynne Guo

Dr. Selynne Guo is a geriatric medicine specialist practicing in Calgary at Rockyview Senior’s Health, Holy Cross Ambulatory Care Centre with a special interest in onco-geriatrics. She completed her geriatric medicine training with the University of Calgary as well as a fellowship in geriatric oncology at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto. In October 2023, she started a pilot onco-geriatric clinic in Calgary, the first clinic of its kind in Alberta.

Dr. Frances Carr 

Dr. Frances Carr is an assistant clinical professor and geriatric physician with the Division of Geriatric Medicine, Department of Medicine, University of Alberta. Her clinical practice includes working on the inpatient unit and as part of the consulting service at the University of Alberta Hospital and at outpatient clinics at Westview Health Centre and Kaye Edmonton Clinic. Her research interests include quality improvement, medication deprescribing and financial decision-making ability.
