Dasha Bosyy is a first year medical student at the University of Alberta. Dasha completed her undergraduate education at Mount Royal University, acquiring a Bachelor of Nursing in 2021. While completing this degree, she was part of a team exploring nursing students’ stress and resilience. This work contributed to changes in the selection criteria for students and a curriculum refresh for the Mount Royal Nursing Program. Since then, Dasha has worked as a registered nurse in internal medicine, and most recently, the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary.
Dasha is passionate about cardiology, with a particular interest in prevention, early recognition, and the unique presentations of cardiovascular disease in women. She hopes to pursue a career in cardiology, but is staying open minded about the possibilities that lie ahead.
Outside of school and work, Dasha enjoys playing and coaching volleyball, skiing, hiking, scuba diving, and exploring new places.
