An early adopter of electronic health records and electronic prescribing, Dr. Lynn McCallum grew up in Warburg, Alberta, and graduated from the University of Alberta with BSc (1988) and MD (1990). She completed her residency in family medicine through the Grey Nuns Hospital in Edmonton. Dr. McCallum entered private practice in 1992 with a solo practice located near the University of Alberta and operating primarily out of the Grey Nuns Hospital.

In June 1996, Lynn and her family moved to California where she established a new practice in Redding. During her time in California, Lynn continued full service family medicine, including caring for hospital patients and delivering babies. She also served as a preceptor for many nurse practitioner students. She was also the founder of the HEART clinic, focussing on anticoagulation patients as well as diabetes education. Lynn received the 2010 Excellence in Public Health Award from the County of Shasta for her educational outreach efforts regarding the H1N1 influenza outbreak.

Dr. McCallum and her husband Matt are happy to be back home in Alberta, where Lynn is the primary physician at Enhance Health Medical in Edmonton
