Dr. Tomy is a practicing psychiatrist in Edmonton and an assistant clinical professor at the University of Alberta. She obtained a Bachelor of Science at the University of Manitoba, a medical degree at the University of Ottawa and completed residency training at the Universities of Manitoba and Alberta.
Following residency, Dr. Tomy was offered a staff position at Edmonton’s University Hospital in outpatient general adult psychiatry. Clinical work involved integrating psychotherapy and pharmacological interventions, including psychiatric assessment and management, group and individual psychotherapy and on-call coverage.
Dr. Tomy served as psychotherapy coordinator for the University of Alberta’s residency training program in psychiatry from 2009 to 2015 and has been a Royal College Examiner since 2019. She currently has a community practice, works with the Mental Health Review Board Panel and is involved in occupational health reviews.
