Maria-Elizabeth Baeva, is in her final year of medical school. Previously, she completed her honours Bachelor of Science degree in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC. She subsequently completed a master’s degree studying Alzheimer’s disease at the same university.

During this time, Maria concurrently worked as a research assistant for the Fraser Health Multiple Sclerosis Clinic. She is currently conducting research at the Hotchkiss Brain Institute.

In addition to her love of research, Maria is passionate about community engagement and knowledge translation: she enjoys giving talks and presentations wherein she can demystify the complicated and ever-evolving worlds of neurology and immunology. In her spare time, Maria is an avid runner, enjoys high intensity interval training and relishes in the opportunity to embroider, sew or listen to a symphony.
