Starting her journey towards the dream of becoming a trauma surgeon, Sunpreet Kaur Cheema came to Canada in 2020. She has worked as a health application analyst with AHS and gained behind the scenes experience in health care technology. Currently, she is a medical student at the University of Alberta. With a family history of domestic and financial abuse and her experiences as a trauma OR nurse, she is committed to providing holistic care to patients experiencing any kind of trauma.

Isolation from immigration and the pandemic helped her fine tune her writing skills as she used poetry to make friends and establish a strong circle of thinkers. Her sisters are her biggest motivators and sources of joy. She hopes to help others process their emotions through her writing and believes emotions are a strength that should be expressed unapologetically.
