As part of providing strategic communications advice and planning to several client areas (including the AMA Youth Run Club, the Health Issues Council, the Indigenous Health Committee and the Healthy Working Environments Committee) Vanda develops and manages communications projects, such as Shine A Light; the Indigenous Health Committee’s Orange Shirt Day campaign 2020; and the AMA’s first sole-subject issue of Alberta Doctors’ Digest (February 2021), dedicated to Joyce Echaquan.

On an ad hoc basis, Vanda applies her writing, editing and research skills to a wide variety of AMA business groups, including the executive office (speeches and correspondence); health economics (uninsured services – guide, website, public inquiries and stakeholder communications); and corporate services (Dr2Dr Secure Messaging and correspondence). In more than 35 years in communications, Vanda has played a key role in the conception, delivery and project management of communications/public relations and marketing efforts in support of many, diverse projects and industries in Alberta and British Columbia, including Alberta SuperNet, Atco Electric’s Eastern Alberta Transmission Line, the forestry industry in BC, the Canadian Patient Safety Institute and the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission, to name a few.
