In its fifth year, there are AMA Youth Run Clubs in 524 schools in Alberta, with approximately 26,200 participating students.

While in Fort McMurray for an elective in rural medicine, third-year University of Alberta medical student Anish Arora had the opportunity to participate in the second annual Fort McMurray Fun Run, June 7, at Ecole St. Paul Elementary. He loved it! “This was my first experience with the AMA Youth Run Club. The energy and enthusiasm of the children was truly amazing! This partnership of the AMA and Ever Active Schools has created a really enjoyable, beneficial program for the kids and their families and the schools, with its encouragement of a healthy lifestyle."

Here are some fun photos from the event.
