Alika Lafontaine is an award-winning physician, chair of the Canadian Medical Association Journal (CMAJ) governance council, and the first Indigenous physician listed by the Medical Post as one of Canada’s 50 Most Powerful Doctors.

He has been with the Indigenous Health Committee since its inception. He joined to support the ongoing efforts of the AMA to engage and support Indigenous communities as part of a commitment to Put Patients First™.
